Over the past five years, Canada's merchandise exports to China have increased by 77%. This represents a rate of more than 50% higher than that of major trading partners.

The total value of exports of goods by Canadian companies of all sizes, was approximately $ 374 billion in 2011. This represents an increase of approximately $ 48 billion, or 15%, compared to 2010. The distribution by firm size is respectively 23.9% for small firms, 16.2% for medium-sized and 59.9% for large firms.
